March 15

Early March saw Jupiter and Venus in a moderately close conjunction in the western sky.

Unfortunately the closest separation occurred when they were not visible from Southern California, but here are some shots over the course of a few days.  Click on the photos to see a larger view.

On the 12th, I also took a telescopic shot which barely fit both Venus and Jupiter (with 4 of its moons)  into the same frame.
