A clear evening and a nice positioning of the planets allowed viewing of Jupiter, Venus, Mars, and Saturn and still left time to descend and have an excellent dinner at the Kula Lodge and Restaurant.

The weekend gave me another opportunity for an attempt to get a photo of the moon and Venus together, despite the fact that the gap was widening.  At least this time, from my observatory at 4300 ft and the moon rising later in the evening, circumstances were a little better.  Click on the image for an enlarged view.

Over the course of the past few days, Venus passed through the Pleiades star cluster.  Conditions weren’t very good for photography from my back yard, but here’s what I got.
